Root Vegetables: Vegetables that grow deep within the earth help to keep us grounded and embody the energy of the root chakra. Garlic and Ginger are my favorte two however you can also try these veggies as well.

  • Carrots

  • Parsnips

  • Potatoes

  • Garlic

  • Dandelion Root Tea

  • Beets

  • Ginger

  • Turmeric

  • Turnips

Being an island girl I grew up on Carrot & Ginger Juice and Garlic and Honey Tea. Here is the easy at home recipe for

Garlic and Honey are is very simple. Peel 2-3 pieces of Garlic. Bowl Garlic for 5 minutes. Then add honey as needed.

Proteins: Eggs, meats, beans and nuts are all high protein foods that are very grounding and nourishing for the root chakra. My favorite meat is goat and oxtail. Though I am not 100% no mean from time to time I do make a tasty oxtail and curry goat. I do eat more beans, to make up the difference.

Red foods: It probably comes as no surprise that the colour of the chakras and the colour of foods are inextricably linked. It is believed that eating a wide range of red fruits and vegetables are great for balancing the root chakra. Strawberries, cherries, apples, pomegranate, tomato, Sweet Red Cherry Peppers, Red Jalapenos and raspberries.

Spread this week eating red. Try and continue in a rotation to help keep a true balance.
